Memorial stone for Thurø's independence.

In 1810 Thurø was bought by minister of justice J. P. de Neergaard, who sold it again to the islands pessans and small-holders on november 19. the same year. He was thanked by naming the forest near Skaarup Sund after him and erecting a memorial stone, on which is found on the street named Bergmannsvej. Hundred years later, when celebrating the islands independence day, this stone was erected as thanks.
