Taasinge sailor's home and national collection
Kirkebakken 1, Bregninge
Next to Bregninge Church on the top of Taasinge lies four houses (soon one more house, The Music House). Those are part of Taasinge Museum. The museum’s big collection and maritime items has been collected by the founder, folklorist and master painter Poul Fredholm 1899-1972.
He was a very keen collector of all sorts of old and interesting things, which he found in homes on the island.

Tåsinge museum
Later, in 1967, to more buildings were brought here. One has a unique collection af costumes and folk music instruments. Another house had been Nielsine Nilesen's ropeyard in Troense.
Today, it is still the owner of Tosinge Museum.
A few years before Poul Fredholm died, he founded Taasinge Museums Laug. Today, it is still the owner of Taasinge Museum.

In 1958 the back building of Frederik Juel’s School was given to Poul Fredholm. Almost at the same time he also received a shippers house from Vemmenæs.
He succeeded in having both houses rebuild in the protected area of Bregninge hills. He moved all his collections into the houses and opened it as Taasinge Skipper House and Folklore Collection.
