On the picture you can see the wooden cieling made
of aok and to the left on the wall a large crucifix made by
Claus Berg in the beginning of the 14th century. It was made
in Odense. You can also see the rows of seats made in old
wood plus the nice lime painting by the vault of the chancel.
The room is not large but as seen, very handsome decorated.

| If
you go up the aisle you will notice a lot of orna-ments
on the rows of the seats. On the 12 foremost are motives
of the apostles with different symbols. They are made
by Hans Dreier, one of the 16th century's finest sculptures.
On the picture is seen the discip-le Matthew. |

In
1828 a grocer from svendborg, Peder Joergensen of Thuroe
lineage, brought this altarpiece to the church. The
original altarpiece was very katholic with virgin Mary
as main figure. It is now in the national museum in
Copenhagen. The motives on the present altarpiece are
the Golgathe incident from the conviction to the resurrection.
It was made in Lübeck in the 13th century. |

Consul A. E. Soerensen and wife donated this organ
in 1965. An organ with only 8 voices (extended to 10 in 1990),
two manuals and a pedal. It is made by Marcussen & Son in
Aabenraa(city). |
