Zoological museum

Here are scandinavian animals from the present and past. The animal life of the present scenaries is found in nature invironments from lake, forrest, beach, and sea. The exhibitions have sound programmes that gives the guests the opportunity to learn the animal sounds of the season.

The museum was opened on 7. june 1935 by Harald Thomson. He had started his collection of birds and animals when he was only six years old. At the opening he presented his own collection consisting of about 500 foreign birds and animals plus 1000 danish birds.

Among the interesting findings from funish swamps are trases of extinct animals.
